Dice Games / Pig
Pig rules & how to play
Roll one die and decide whether to roll again or bank your points. Aim to reach the target score.
Rules: 0.27.1 series · Updated October 12, 2026. Values are preset examples; active match settings take precedence.
Overview and objective
Roll one die and decide whether to roll again or bank your points. Aim to reach the target score.
Players and setup
2–4 players: you occupy the first seat and the others are CPUs. Choose the player count, each CPU's strength and rules in match setup. The default is two players. Resuming uses the saved settings.
Equipment and controls
One six-sided die. Press Roll to roll it and Bank points to end your turn. If banking is unavailable, the screen explains why.
Turn sequence
Rolling 2–6 adds to your turn points. A 1 loses turn points and passes play. Banking adds turn points to your banked score and advances to the next seat.
Scoring and winning
Standard rules give an instant win for banking at least 100. With final turns enabled, everyone except the player who reached the target gets one more turn. Highest score wins; equal scores share a rank.
Settings: banking and losing points
Change the target, minimum bank, whether a 1 also loses banked points, end condition and roll limit. The minimum bank applies to voluntary banking. The roll limit forces banking, but exact-target restrictions take priority.
Settings: exact target
Choose at least the target or exactly the target. On overshooting, either lose turn points and pass, or ignore that roll and continue. Banked points remain. Ignored rolls still count toward the roll limit.
Settings: one point short
With an exact target and banked points protected, banking one point short is forbidden because a 1 cannot add points. Even at the roll limit, play passes without banking. This restriction does not apply when a 1 also loses banked points.
Included and excluded variants
Normal play in this app uses the one-die variant. Two-dice Pig is not supported. Values such as 100 here are standard examples. Check Rules for this match for your current values.
Glossary
Turn points: unbanked points from the current turn. Banked score: points secured so far. Bust: losing turn points, for example by rolling a 1. Final round: the last turns given to other seats after the target is reached.
FAQ
Q. Can I win as soon as my roll reaches the target? A. You must bank the points first. Q. Does exceeding an exact target erase banked points? A. No. This differs from the rule for rolling a 1.
Saving and suspending
Actions are saved before appearing on screen. Retry if saving fails. Opening the rules during a match pauses the CPU; closing them resumes it. Practice saves are separate from normal matches and statistics.
Example & practice
4 → 6 → 3 gives 13 turn points.
Bank now to add 13 to your total. Rolling a 1 next loses these 13 turn points. Previously banked points remain under standard rules.
You have 87 banked points and 13 turn points. What happens under the standard 100-point rule?
Banking reaches 100 and wins immediately. Unbanked points are not your total. With final reply turns enabled, the other players still get a turn.
